A celebration of a musical partnership spanning nearly two decades. Irish-born, Edinburgh-based folk star Heidi Talbot reunites with her favourite musical companion, Ivor Novello Award-nominated singer-songwriter Boo Hewerdine, for an intimate evening marking Heidi's remarkable 25 years as a professional singer.
Heidi Talbot
Born in Co. Kildare, Ireland, Heidi Talbot's extraordinary journey has taken her from folk stardom in the USA as a member of Irish American band Cherish the Ladies to her current home in Edinburgh, Scotland. This transatlantic experience has shaped her distinctive style that switches effortlessly between Celtic and Americana traditions.
Subtlety is Talbot's magic ingredient. Her gossamer voice and delicate reworking of traditional and contemporary material have earned rave reviews across two decades of international touring. She has graced stages from the White House to symphony orchestras, from prestigious concert halls to intimate folk festivals across North and South America, Europe, Scandinavia, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
Her accolades include nominations for Folk Singer of the Year and Best Traditional Song by BBC Radio 2, Best Live Act by the Scottish Traditional Music Awards, and Best Female Vocalist at The Irish Music Awards. In 2023, she added Composer of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards to her achievements. Heidi has shared stages and recorded with musical luminaries including Mark Knopfler, Graham Coxon (Blur), Tim O'Brien, Jerry Douglas, and King Creosote.
Her latest album, Sing It For A Lifetime, was recorded during lockdown with stellar musicians across several time zones, showcasing her ability to create beautiful music regardless of circumstance. With eight solo albums to her name and extensive radio play on BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, Heidi continues to evolve as both performer and composer, recently completing her degree in composing for Film & Game with the Film Scoring Academy of Europe.
