An evening with…Soul Junction

  • Armathwaite Old School Hall Front Street Carlisle, England, CA4 9PB United Kingdom (map)

Soul Junction – Live in Armathwaite

Brassy, sassy and seriously classy, Soul Junction bring the very best of Soul and Motown to Armathwaite for a night guaranteed to get you moving.

This seven-piece Cumbrian powerhouse features male and female lead vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, twin trumpets and sax – a classic soul line-up complete with a full horn section that fills the room and the dance floor every single time.

Based in Penrith, Soul Junction perform across the North of England and Scotland and are firm festival favourites, with main stage appearances at Solfest, Big Burns Supper, Mains Farm, Maryport Blues and many more. Wherever they play, the result is the same – packed floors and big smiles.

Their high-energy set celebrates the greatest Soul and Motown legends, from Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding to Stevie Wonder and Amy Winehouse, alongside plenty more iconic names in between – all delivered in Soul Junction’s own unmistakable style, with just a ‘laal’ bit of Cumbrian banter thrown in for good measure.

Behind the sound is a seriously experienced band:

  • Lisa (lead vocals) – a proud Cumbrian with a rich, powerful voice and a love of both rock and soul.

  • Jon (sax & vocals) – equally at home with Mozart, swing or the Memphis Horns – and yes, he’s the one in the hats.

  • Rebekah (trumpet & keyboard) – Otis-loving, soul-riff-belting creative force whose artwork features in the band’s media.

  • Simon (trumpet) – funk-infused brass talent seen with North Lakes Brass and Cockermouth Mechanics.

  • Bob (bass) – lifelong groover keeping the Motown rhythms locked in tight.

  • Alan (drums) – a seasoned touring drummer with an impressive rock pedigree, from UK tours to Los Angeles and beyond.

If you love proper live music, big harmonies, punchy horns and songs that make you want to sing at the top of your lungs, this is your night.

Bring your own drinks. Bring your friends. And definitely bring your dancing shoes.

7pm for a 7:30pm start.
